As a digital artist, Phoenix specializes in affected live video that is viscerally and directly interactive with performers and audiences, creating illusions that transform the ordinary into the extra-ordinary. His work is inherently collaborative. He creates interactive environments, where the viewer is immediately implicated as a participant. His interactive works have been featured for stage, installations, and augmented reality experiences and have been viewed by many thousands of people. His work with augmented reality has been featured in numerous festivals, events and locations around the world. Phoenix uses his large set of programming knowledge to make the tools he uses for his own artistic creations.
Phoenix also works with the medium of time to create both video and still imagery. His Time Portraits and Essence of Motion projects are superb examples of the techniques he employs to examine time as an artistic medium. Phoenix uses his own custom designed software to achieve these unique results.
Phoenix has collaborated with local and internationally renowned artists, and his work has been featured in international dance productions, concerts, theater, augmented reality experiences, and installations.
